Stellenview Premium Wines has reaffirmed that they are here to stay, earning more recognition on both the local and international competition stages.
At the recent China Wine & Spirit Awards (CWSA) they were awarded Gold for the Kruger Family Reserve Shiraz 2017 and Double Gold for the Kruger Family Reserve Sauvignon Blanc 2020. However, the cherry on the cake was for the Kruger Family Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2018, which not only walked away with Double Gold, but also South African Wine of the Year.
Earlier in July leading international wine industry magazine, Decanter, featured five of the company’s wines in its portfolio. The Stellenview Premium Shiraz 2017 scored the highest with an exceptional 95 out of a possible 100 points as well as receiving a Gold Medal. In addition 94 points was awarded to the Kruger Family Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2018, 93 points for the Kruger Family Reserve Shiraz 2017, 92 points for the Stellenview Premium Cabernet Sauvignon 2018, and 90 points for the Kruger Family Reserve Sauvignon Blanc 2020. Only 39 Gold medals were awarded for South African producers and 635 Gold medals worldwide.
On the local front the Kruger Family Reserve Shiraz 2017 was named as one of the Top 10 Wines in the recent Prescient Shiraz Report for 2021, as well as scoring 93 points. Hot on its heels was the Kruger Family Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2018, which was also named as a Top 10 Wine in the 2021 Prescient Cabernet Sauvignon Report and scoring 93 points.
Although the red wines excel in the competitions their white varietals are also doing extremely well, with the Kruger Family Reserve Chardonnay 2017 scoring 90 points as recently reviewed by Winemag.co.za.
